The new APROPOS GEGENWART series kicks off with a prominent guest, Yuri Andrukhovych, one of Ukraine’s best-known contemporary writers and most important intellectuals. He has been an indispensable chronicler of Ukrainian history for years, bringing it closer to this readers with stunning verbal imagery.

There will be a presentation of samples of his varied work, consisting of novels, poems, essays and travelogues, which have been translated into more than 20 languages.

Renowned Austrian historian, author and Ukraine expert Martin Pollack will speak with the author.

Philipp Hauß will read texts by the author.
