How to search and borrow from the Economics and Financial Literacy Collection

In the ERSTE Foundation Library online catalogue (OPAC), you can reserve books from all collections. We encourage you to use this option especially for books from the Economics and Financial Education collection, as access to this collection is restricted during certain meetings and events.

You can access the resources on site during our opening hours. However, due to on-site circumstances, our Economics and Financial Literacy Collection is not always accessible for immediate use on site.

However, there is an easy way to view these resources online. If you already have a library card, you can reserve the desired resource directly online and simply pick up the item at the library, no later than the next day that the library is open.

Step by step

1. Sign in to your library account using your ID number on the flip side of your Library Card and your password (mandatory for placing reserves or holds for media still checked out).

2. Click on »Search« and then on »Expert-CCL«.

3. Type in »DDC=33*« to view all the resources of the respective section Economics and Financial Literacy Collection.

4. Use the classification numbers listed in the table below to get a more detailed result. For example »DDC=330.0151« to get all information resources on financial mathematics, etc.

5. If you have searched and found a book you want to have a look at or reserve it (or place a hold on, in case it is currently checked out), there are two ways to retrieve the book(s):

Option 1:

  • Click on the respective book in the list of results from your search in the online catalogue.
  • Click on »No. items« at the bottom of the catalogued entry for that specific book.
  • On the next page press the button in the center of the screen labeled »Get it« and »Ok«.
  • You can collect requested item from the reserve shelf at the library (or ask for it at the library or reception desk)

Option 2:

  • Click on the respective book in the list of results from your search in the online catalogue
  • Click on the button labeled »Add to basket« left hand side on the menu above the entry
  • When you are done and have added everything you want to the basket, press »Save/E-Mail« and enter your e-mail in »Subject« AND enter the recipient’s e-mail: library@erstestiftung.org
  • A notification will be sent to your e-mail address when the reserved item becomes available, at the latest by next opening day of the library.

If you do not yet have a library card, please contact the ERSTE Foundation library directly by email.
