The Library is the knowledge hive of ERSTE Foundation. It creates and disseminates knowledge by building collections that mirrow the capacity and memory of ERSTE Foundation and supports the Foundation’s mission and vision. Established in 2007, the Library collects information resources that meet the current research and information needs of ERSTE Foundation team. Geographically, the collection focuses on Central and South Eastern Europe including Austria.
We acquire, organise and maintain a collection of books, reports, annuals, dissertations, exhibition catalogues, DVDs and online material that primarily deals with topics raised by ERSTE Foundation’s programmes Europe, Culture, and Social Development.
We collect literature mainly in English and German. Topics include art and media theory and history, minority and gender issues, cultural theory and policies, economic and political developments, social banking, innovation in foundations, philanthropy, demography, migration, education, and the art of memory.
