“Garden of Everyday Errors: Alternativa Book of Practices” is a methodological book dedicated to the curatorial and artistic practices grounded in local context. Based on five years of experience in addressing timely local and everyday matters in historically and politically important Gdansk Shipyard, with strong consideration of regional and global issues, this book is made with an ambition to provide the study of practice that can be implemented in other cultural contexts, in Central and South-Eastern Europe in particular; thus presenting how practice with time becomes theory.

The main part of the book is called Alternativa Dictionary and includes multiple entries by the experienced artists, curators and theorist in an attempt to approach the subject of local context from multiple perspectives both practical and theoretical. The visual components of publication include mind maps, sketches, preparatory materials from curatorial archives and the record of work produced in relation to understanding of that context. The book contains essays regarding the context of organized labour, economy, materiality, city planning, everydayness and vernacular forms. Interviews bring personal perspective of the curators of the project intention and outcome. It also includes short biographies of all contributors of Alternativa, index of names and projects that were part of Alternativa in past years.
