»WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR TODAY?« is an installation by the Ukrainian artist duo EtchingRoom1Kristina Yarosh and Anna Khodkova. Curated by Elisabeth Hajek, the work was developed during the artists’ residency in the Artist-in-Residence Programme at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna and conceived specifically for its public spaces. The MQ AiR Programme, part of a long-term initiative by ERSTE Foundation and tranzit, supports contemporary art and offers artists from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe the opportunity to spend two months living and working at the MuseumsQuartier, enabling focused research free from everyday production pressures.

The installation consists of individual stelae arranged in a wall-like formation, each displaying crayon drawings on both sides in the style of hidden object puzzles. The series reflects the artists’ personal experiences of conflict as individuals from Kyiv, while also revealing their strategies for navigating these challenges. In a time marked by multiple crises, the work invites viewers to discover moments of hope within the fragile balance of everyday life.

Installation opening: 28 April at 6:00 pm in the forecourt of the MuseumsQuartier Wien
