»Esiod 2015« (2016) is Art in Architecture project by Erste Group for the Erste Campus. In line with the artist’s concept, the work is presented annually at the Erste Campus until the year 2051.

The 38-minute science fiction film, shot in 2015 and 2016 in and around the Erste Campus, follows a young woman who returns to Vienna in the year 2051 to close her bank account. However, the account contains not only financial data but also digitally stored memories and personal information. The bank’s computer system fails to recognise her, prompting a mandatory »Memory Check«.

Clemens von Wedemeyer, born in 1974 in Göttingen, lives and works in Berlin and Leipzig. His films and video installations have been featured at documenta 13 in Kassel, the 4th Berlin Biennale, and the Moscow Biennale. Additional exhibitions include the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, CAC Brétigny, MoMA PS1 in New York, Kölnischer Kunstverein, and the Barbican Art Centre in London.

The artist will be present. No registration is required. Admission is free.
