Kontakt Collection in Kosovo
DokuFest and Autostrada Biennale
2 August – 4 August 2025
Prizren
This August, the Kontakt Collection will present films in Prizren, Kosovo, as part of a collaboration with the Autostrada Biennale and DokuFest.
The Autostrada Biennale, curated by Kosovar artist and curator Erzen Shkololli, celebrates its fifth edition this year. Entitled »Unfolding Currents: The Pulse of Time«, it invites the public—starting 5 July—to explore Prizren’s rich history through artworks that engage with the city’s historic sites.
The international film festival DokuFest, also based in Prizren, marks its 24th edition. Under the artistic direction of Veton Nurkollari, it will take place from 1 to 9 August.
As part of the collaboration with the Autostrada Biennale and DokuFest, a selection of Kontakt Video Portraits curated by Veton Nurkollari will be presented in the frame of the Autostrada Biennale’s public programme on 2 and 3 August. The personalities portrayed in the films—Alexander Horwath, Ashley Hans Scheirl, Milica Tomić, and Želimir Žilnik—will be present for public discussions moderated by Neil Young.
Also curated by Veton Nurkollari are two 90-minute film programmes featuring works from the Kontakt Collection, which will be shown in the official DokuFest programme on 3 and 4 August. These include works by Sokol Beqiri, Dietmar Brehm, Ivan Ladislav Galeta, Sanja Iveković, Anna Jermolaewa, Adrian Paci, Hans (Ashley) Scheirl, Mladen Stilinović, Milica Tomić, Želimir Žilnik, and Artur Żmijewski.
