CULTIVATORS OF LIFE: Growing Seedbeds of Knowledge
A group exhibition on collective learning, ecological practices, and care.

5 September – 8 November 2026, 16:30
Modem Debrecen

A group exhibition presented within the two-year programme »Cultivators of Life«, curated by Adelina Luft (tranzit.ro/București) and Krisztián Gábor Török (MODEM) and organized by tranzit.ro/București. The exhibition is presented at MODEM – Center for Modern and Contemporary Art in Debrecen, Hungary. It opens on 5 September 2026 at 16:30 and runs from 6 September to 8 November 2026.

At the heart of the exhibition are six gardens in and around Bucharest and Debrecen that became places of exchange, research, artistic inquiry, and collective learning. Starting from the garden as a site of knowledge, care, preservation, and social transformation, the exhibition brings together artistic practices from diverse geographical and cultural contexts.

The exhibition explores how knowledge emerges through cultivation, ecological practice, scientific inquiry, and indigenous and ancestral relationships with the land. The works presented are rooted in long-term relationships with places, plants, communities, and other forms of life, approaching art as a practice of observing, preserving, and learning with the living world.
