Vienna

As part of the 10th anniversary of the art-in-architecture project at Erste Campus, the Kontakt Collection invites you to a public screening of the art-in-architecture film »Esiod 2015«.

Starting from the film, artist Clemens von Wedemeyer, cultural and media scientist Paul Feigelfeld and Maximilian Clary und Aldringen, board member of Erste Bank, will then discuss what has changed in the ten years since the film was made with regard to artificial intelligence, its artistic use and critical discourse, what impact this has on society and possible future perspectives.

»Esiod 2015« (2016) is an art-in-architecture project of Erste Group at Erste Campus. Following the artist’s concept, it will be shown annually at Erste Campus until 2051. The 38-minute science fiction film, shot in 2015 and 2016 on and around Erste Campus, tells the story of a young woman who returns to Vienna in 2051 to close her bank account. The account contains not only financial data, but also memories and personal information. However, the young woman is not recognized by the computer system and is forced to undergo a »memory check.«

Clemens von Wedemeyer is an artist and lives and works in Berlin and Leipzig.
Paul Feigelfeld is a cultural and media scholar and lives and works in Vienna and Salzburg.
