»Escape into the Future«
A one-day rave to transcend the present

13 September 2025, 13:00 – 22:00
Vienna

No one truly embraces the prevailing order—yet it often feels inescapable. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, grand utopian alternatives have lost credibility, leaving many susceptible to the seductive simplicity of authoritarian promises.

On its final day, the »Through the Dark« microfestival series explores a different path beyond this »capitalist realism« (Mark Fisher): a political strategy that perforates the status quo. Rather than striving for a singular, ideal world, it embraces a plurality of diverse, even contradictory counter-worlds. These alternatives converge in a form of queer solidarity, allowing glimpses of other futures to shine through the monotony of late capitalism.
