Journalism
Democracy requires freedom of opinion. Freedom of opinion requires freedom of the press. Quality coverage of complex issues allows each individual to form his or her own opinion. One of ERSTE Foundation’s main concern is therefore to promote journalistic training and cross-border research and reporting, because we firmly believe that supporting independent, investigative journalism is instrumental to developing stable democratic structures. Creating opportunities for journalists from different countries to meet is one of our core goals.
