PATTERNS_Projects funded by ERSTE Foundation

PATTERNS not only initiates and commissions but also supports contemporary culture projects in a variety of formats and media.  We are particularly interested in projects which are just about to start and analytically deal with the time period from the 1960s up to the present, but also with the year of transition in 1989. They should focus on cultural phenomena which include aspects of popular, marginal and counter culture with the aim to develop cross-border issues from local contexts.

Some projects have been developed in intense cooperation with our project partners over the last years.
A lot of projects have been selected through the PATTERNS Call_2008 initiated by ERSTE Foundation.

PATTERNS Call_2008

The Selected Projects

As an addition to projects already underway within the framework of PATTERNS, ERSTE Foundation launched a call for submissions end of 2007. The call addressed projects in Central and South Eastern Europe that share PATTERNS’ areas of interest.
In 2008, 33 projects were selected out of around 150 applications. Most of them will be realised in 2010.

The jury consisted of the members of the PATTERNS Advisory Panel and curators of ERSTE Foundation’s Programme Culture:

Cosmin Costinas (Curator, bak – basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht)
Veronica Kaup-Hasler (Director of steirischer herbst, Graz)
Piotr Piotrowski (Art Historian, Poznan)
Georg Schöllhammer (Editor of “springerin” and “documenta 12 magazines”, Vienna)
Christine Böhler (Director of the Programme Culture, ERSTE Foundation)
Christiane Erharter (Curator of the Programme Culture, ERSTE Foundation)

At the moment there is no call for PATTERNS_Projects open!
