CONFERENCE REVIEW

Conference: Ways into the future: Participation through Education

The conference “Ways into the future: Participation through Education” took place in Esztergom, Hungary, from 24.9.-26.9.2008. The aim of the symposia was to strenghten the cooperation between the different actors and to give experts, practitioners as well as interested experts from the public administration the opportunity to exchange experiences and know-how, to engage in discussions and to enhance the networking between the participants from nine different countries.
Within a framework of keynote speeches, best-practice examples and workshops, the conference concretly dealt with the question of what the most effective education measures are that can contribute to escaping situations of poverty and discrimination.  In the conference new approaches and methods were discussed and best-practice examples exchanged, all of which had an immediate impact on the daily work of the participants.
