Job Training Centre for disadvantaged youths in Darnitsa, Ukraine

The job training centre in Darnitsa, a district of Kiev, supports 375 children and young adults, aged 12-34. The projects implements job education programmes for disadvantaged teenagers, supports the children in their studies and provides career orientation measures. School education and job training aim at preventing the children from unemployment, poverty and homelessness.
A Success story from the last project period:
At the end of the school year, out of 20 youngsters who were involved in the shoe repair workshop, four orphaned children with mental disabilities participated and attend now a special school for shoe repair, they plan to continue their education to operate in the same specialty. Also, two girls, who studied in the design studio, continue to learn in this profession – one at the Teachers College at the Department of Design teacher, and the second as a stage decorator.
