Speech 6: Doron Rabinovici

Doron Rabinovici is an Israeli-Austrian historian and writer. He has lived in Vienna since 1964. Doron Rabinovici studied History, Ethnology, Medicine and Psychology at the University of Vienna, going on to work as an essayist and historian. He obtained his doctorate in 2000 with the thesis Instanzen der Ohnmacht. Die Wiener jüdische Gemeindeteilung 1938-1945, dealing with the emergence of the Jewish Councils in Vienna from 1938-1945. He writes prose (short stories, novels, essays) and conducts historical studies on Austrian contemporary history.

Doron Rabinovici is politically active in the anti-racism movement. In February 2000, for example, he was co-initiator of the mass rally with the motto Nein zur Koalition mit dem Rassismus (No to Coalition with Racism). Doron Rabinovici is a member of the writers’ guild Grazer Autorenversammlung.
