Mother’s Club Integration of Mothers and Young Families in Society
27. Jul, 2009
The lives of young parents changes radically when a child is born: their time-tables, career opportunities, social life and their family budget changes. The mothers in many cases have to choose between being a good mother and having a career. Due to modernization many new challenges have appeared concerning baby care, the education and socialization of young children and the re-accommodation of the young parents into society. The existence of the ethnic minority in Cluj adds to these difficulties: the lack of the Hungarian crèches, the small number of Hungarian kinder-gardens, the absence of specialists who speak Hungarian. These deficiencies are compensated by the programs of our project: the clubs ensure the formation of new small communities; the invited specialists offer psychological, pedagogical, mental-hygienic, medical and legal counseling; the play house prepares young children for kindergarten.
