Russia’s attempts to influence world politics have increased since Vladimir Putin’s re-election in 2012. The Kremlin is using tools of political warfare once used by the Soviet Union to deepen divisions and change the political climate in Europe.
German historian Karl Schlögel believes that Europe needs to stay alert and improve its own resilience in order to be able to stand up to Russia.
