SozialMarie – Prize for social innovation 2011
Awarded: I €AN – Workshops to get off to a good start in “financial life”

After 2007, when Die Zweite Sparkasse was awarded the 3rd prize in the competition for the SozialMarie, this year it is again Zweite Sparkasse’s turn to celebrate: From 267 projects that have been submitted, the debt prevention initiative «I €AN» has been awarded a 4th prize in the competition for the SozialMarie – Prize for social innovation.

«I €AN» has been launched by Die Zweite Sparkasse in cooperation with Schuldnerberatung Wien and Jugend am Werk at the beginning of 2010. In workshops that have been specifically designed for this purpose, apprentices learn basic elements of financial planning and management. This should help them manage their “financial lives” and – hopefully – prevent them from walking into the debt trap. The workshops are held by volunteers from Die Zweite Sparkasse.
