Reporter’14 Ost: Call for Applications


Competition for young journalists
Apply until 31 October 2013!

For the third time, ERSTE Foundation supports the competition for young journalists Reporter’14 Ost of the Austrian daily Die Presse. Young people with journalistic ambitions (18 to 26 years old, resident in Austria) are invited to send their proposals for interesting stories from Central and Southeastern Europe until 31 October. The candidates and their proposals are presented on the website until the closing date. After that, the most promising stories will be selected and presented to the public, who can choose their favourites through online voting. Finally, an expert jury will select the winner from among the five candidates with the highest voting scores. The winner — the reporter ’14 Ost — will go on a trip to her/his chosen destination with Die Presse foreign affairs editor Jutta Sommerbauer.

The reporter ’14 Ost timetable:

until 31 October: application period
12 November – 2 December: online voting on
December: jury selects the winner
February 2014 (2 weeks): trip with Jutta Sommerbauer
