New aces call for applications is open!
“Embracing solidarity: We care, dare and share!” is the theme of this year’s competition for cross-border school projects. For the eighth time, aces – Academy of Central European Schools invites teachers and students to develop and implement a project together with international partners. Project proposals can be submitted from 15 January till 15 April 2015, and the schools with the best ideas will receive a grant and support for their project implementation.
All humans are equal, but not all have equal opportunities. Unfortunately some are less privileged for one reason or another. Some might have special needs, live below the poverty line or are marginalised because of who they are, where they come from or what has occurred to them. aces aims for a society in which people care about each other, a place where people not only claim their rights but also see the responsibility they have for the wellbeing of all.
One competition – plenty of winners
Interested schools are invited to find international partners and to submit a joint project proposal. The call addresses schools from 15 European countries (Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Slovenia) with a target group of students aged 12 to 17 years. The online partner finder on the aces website helps to match the applicants. An international selection committee selects and awards the best ideas. The winners are supported to carry out their cross-border projects. International meetings with delegations of all winning projects provide a platform for exchange and further educational development.
Since 2006 the aces school network has been active in Central and South Eastern Europe with the aim to promote exchange and intercultural dialogue among young people. So far more than 25.000 pupils and 3.600 teachers have participated in the aces programme, which is supported by the Ministries of Education of all participating states.
