Milena Jesenská fellows chosen for 2015/2016

Milena Jesenská Fellowships for Journalists

The Milena Jesenská Fellowships for Journalists gives journalists with an outstanding professional record the means to fully concentrate on a self-chosen research topic – during a three months stay in Vienna. Supported by, among others, ERSTE Foundation, the four awarded fellows not only receive a stipend, a personal office as well as research facilities and services, but also a significant travel grant to deepen their research on the spot. All four journalists have previously won numerous awards and fellowships.

Vlad Odobescu, a freelance journalist from the Bucharest based Romanian Centre for Investigative Journalism, has participated in the Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence 2013. He also won the first prize for his story on the example of integrity (or the lack thereof) in Romanian local politics.

The other selected fellows are:

Sasho Ordanoski , freelance journalist, Daily Sloboden Pecat and Media Fact Checking Service, Skopje

Gemma Pörzgen, freelance journalist, Berlin

Guney Yildiz, reporter, producer, analyst, BBC, London
