MAKE.A.MATCH: Exhibition Opening in Pristina
After Basel and Tel Aviv, the artist collaboration project MAKE.A.MATCH will make a stop in Kosovo’s capital Pristina, from 3 to 17 October. Local artist Dren Maliqi and German artists Paul Philipp Heinze & Matthias Krause worked together on a video and sound installation titled “Trapped in Motion” which will be presented at the opening on 3 October in the Gallery of the Ministry of Culture.
MAKE.A.MATCH is a project based on the idea of cultural exchange between two artists living and working in different cities. Unlike the common artist-in-residence program, the project connects visiting artists directly to locals, which leads to a higher level of integration into the local scenes. The objectives are to build sustainable partnerships that endure in the future, to raise awareness of the culture of others, to widen and build sustainable perspectives that develop in discussions where artists and visitors reflect on work, society and being in a different manner.
The curated confrontation of two artistic positions, involving the work and cultural interests of the paired-up artists will become visible through projects or exhibitions. The stops of MAKE.A.MATCH during 2013 are Tel Aviv, Basel, Pristina, Vienna and Stockholm.
Date: Opening on 3 October 2013, 7 pm. Exhibition from 3 – 17 October
Venue: Gallery of the Ministry of Culture, “Qafa” complex, Pristina/Kosovo
