Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory 2012
The Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory will take place for the third time on Friday, 16 November 2012 at Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Poland.
The winners of the Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory 2012 are appointed by an international jury and will be announced at the award ceremony. Members of the jury in 2012 are: Alenka Gregoric (curator and director, Mestna Galerija Ljubljana), Yuri Leiderman (artist, Berlin and Moscow), Hanna Wróblewska (curator and director, Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw).

3 pm to 7 pm: Conference with presentations, conversations, lectures and the launch of the book Igor Zabel Contemporary Art Theory.
Participants: Alenka Gregoric, Sabine Hänsgen (slavicist, culture and media theoretician, artist, Berlin), Yuri Leiderman, Timea Junghaus (European Roma Cultural Foundation, Budapest), Urša Jurman, Klara Kemp-Welch (art historian, London), Jaroslaw Kozłowski (artist, former director of Akumulatory 2 Gallery, Poznan), Suzana Milevska (art historian, Skopje), Igor Spanjol (chief curator, Moderna galerija Ljubljana), Hanna Wróblewska.
8 pm: Award ceremony with participation of Piotr Piotrowski (art historian, Poznan; winner of the Igor Zabel Award 2010). The ceremony will be followed by a reception and a party.
The event is open to the public.
Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory – new board elected
Mateja Kos Zabel is the president of the Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory. Urša Jurman (curator, critic, editor, and organiser in the field of visual arts) is the new vice-president of the Association and running its business.
The Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory, which is awarded every two years, was created in 2008 to honour the memory of the curator, critic and writer Igor Zabel (1958-2005). The Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory is initiated and funded by ERSTE Foundation.
