Humanity in Action International Conference in Warsaw

The Humanity in Action (HIA) International Conference is the annual gathering of more than 250 young and established leaders committed to promoting human rights, diversity and active citizenship in their own communities and around the world. The 2013 International Conference in Warsaw will feature keynotes, workshops and discussions led by experts and activists who will bring both Polish and international perspectives to the theme of transitions in a changing world, democracy, human rights and diversity. It will explore various transformations within Polish society, from Fascism and Communism to democracy and from a heterogeneous pre-World War II population to an ethnically and religiously homogenous society.

The conference will be implemented in partnership with the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and HIA partner organizations in the United States and Europe.
The program will also include site visits in Warsaw that explore past and present Poland, as well as an optional visit to the Treblinka memorial site.
