Debating Europe: Future of Democracies

The political participation in elections has been declining for years which undermines the system of representative democracy. In Europe, authoritarian structures develope, but also new protest cultures such as Syriza, Podemos or Pegida. According to the political scientist Colin Crouch, we are already in the age of post-democracy to which social media contribute as well.
