dominant powers_biographical landscapes of new zagreb

Since December 2011, director Claudia Bosse has been researching together with sound artist Guenther Auer in New Zagreb meeting inhabitants of this urban area. In the performance “dominant powers. what is to be done then?”, as a part of the festival EUROKAZ 2012, citizens from New Zagreb become part of a special transfer. With their bodies and their biographies they are actors of a live installation in the MSU and form the chorus of the performance .

Together with ten inhabitants of New Zagreb Claudia Bosse developed choreographies of daily routines in the outlines of their concrete apartments in the studio of the museum as a ritualised reconstruction of the living space, repeating of ways and actions in the apartment. Six apartments are going to be readjusted in their original size and animated by the inhabitants from different generations, projections of their interviews and multiple documents of their lives.

At the same time art pieces from the MSU are placed in the apartments of the participants, creating an artistic cartography of New Zagreb named “biographical landscapes of new zagreb with selected residents and their concepts of life.
