Die Zweite Sparkasse opens new branch office in Upper Austria

The year 2011 will bring another important step to improve the living conditions of persons in dire straits in Austria: Die Zweite Sparkasse will open a branch office in Linz, Upper Austria. The services offered will include a credit account with basic insurance coverage, and are part of a comprehensive support and supervision package offered by welfare institutions such as Schuldnerberatung, Caritas and Schuldner-Hilfe. It is mandatory for prospective clients of Die Zweite Sparkasse to be a client of one of these institutions. The banking services will be offered by active and retired employees of Sparkasse Oberösterreich.
For Sparkasse Oberösterreich, the opening of Die Zweite Sparkasse in Linz is a logical step in its 160-year long history, since it was the founding concept of the institute to take social responsibility and put it into practice.

In total, 412 active and retired employees of Erste Bank and Sparkassen offer banking and insurance services to 6,800 clients in seven branches in six Austrian provinces (Vienna, Carinthia, Tirol, Styria, Salzburg, Upper Austria). Die Zweite Sparkasse was founded in 2006 by ERSTE Foundation with a capital of 5,8 million euros.
