Debating Europe: What is uniting Europe?

Debating Europe

The topic of the discussion will be the centrifugal forces of the continent: Does Greece remain in the euro zone? Does Britain resign from the EU? Did the basic idea of aligning European states fail because of the single market and a common currency? Did the division into old and new Europe by U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld come true? Is there, despite all the differences, not such a thing as a cultural identity? These questions are vital for the Union.

These issues will be discussed by Rosen Plevneliev (Bulgarian President), Heinz Fischer (President of Austria), Johannes Hahn (EU-Commissioner) and Roger Köppel (chief editor of the Swiss weekly magazine “Weltwoche”). Moderated by: Alexandra Föderl-Schmid, chief editor DER STANDARD
