Annamária Nagy: Artist in Residence @ MQ Vienna, November
“Nowadays I have three ongoing projects. One of them is the organization of the 40 years old anniversary exhibition of the Steel Sculpture Workshop with one of the former artists, Gyula Várnai, in the Institute of the Contemporary Art in Dunaújváros. The second one is to do a research and write a study about the Contemporary Sculpture Collection in Székesfehérvár, which is connected to the one in Dunaújváros in the way that its basic pieces came from a similar collaboration between an aluminum factory and the artists. It was the antecedent of the workshop of Dunaújváros. The third project is a participation in an international conference called “Cities of a new type. New industrial cities in popular democracies after 1945.” This is organized by the Pepper Arts Project and I am researching the steel workers professional and everyday life, especially how they managed the mandatory cultural and studying programs with work and family.”
