Expert conference: Stepping stone to get off to a better future!

Requirements for a socially sustainable educational system
Expert conference hosted by KomenskýFond, ERSTE Foundation and Caritas

4 July 2011, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
Kardinal König Haus, Kardinal-König-Platz 3, 1130 Vienna

The conference is intended to give experts, practitioners and interested professionals from the field an opportunity to meet, share experiences and build networks.

The conference will focus on the educational framework encountered by children and young people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against due to their background, a lack of resources or other reasons. These questions will be dealt with:

  • How can we bring the principle of “equal opportunities” to life in the educational system?
  • Who are those to benefit from a better social mobility within the educational system?
  • How can education support and promote children?
  • What can we do today to halt educational poverty?

Prof Wolfgang Lutz, founding director of the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital, will speak about “The global view: A global perspective of the benefits of education”.

If you would like to take part in the conference, please register with Barbara Peichl from Caritas Österreich either by mail or by phone +431 48831 400 or fax +431 48831 9400.
