The Prague Writers’ Festival 2011 is an annual event with a long tradition, presenting the world of literature as a place of social and cultural dialogue. Writers from various countries are invited to Prague as some kind of crossroad between East and West to present their work and their culture to an international audience in the form of discussions and readings.
The 21st festival carries the name Some Like It Hot and has a focus on Greek and Turkish Literature, trying to take in consideration the specific historic relationship of both countries as well as their perspectives in the context of the EU. This year the following writers are invited among others: Nedim Gürsel, Zülfü Livaneli, Dionysis Kapsalis and Derek Walcott (Nobel Prize Laureate).
All events will be simultaneously translated into Czech and English and streamed online.
