Map_Number of applications_2013

The fourth edition of the ERSTE Foundation Award for Social Integration gathered 1,988 applications from 13 CEE countries. Most of the applications came  from Hungary (501) and Romania (355), while 309 projects were submitted by Austrian organisations, which were included this year for the first time in the race for the ERSTE Foundation Award for Social Integration.

The call for applications was open from September until November 2012, addressing organisations, which are active in the social integration field, from 13 countries of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Slovenia.

Following the evaluation and ranking by a group of local experts in the social field, the finalists were selected recently (in total 130 projects). Currently, our colleagues from the Social Development team are on the road, until end of March, to visit all finalist projects from the 13 countries for a further on-site evaluation. The 33 winners will be announced at the Award Ceremony taking place in Vienna in June 2013, and will share the prize money totaling 610,000 euro as well as other benefits.
